A paper, written in cooperation with the Know-Center and the scientists of the Institute for Knowledge Management and Knowledge Technologies (Technical University of Graz) was accepted at the world wide web conference 2011.
Brockhaus language service online
Brockhaus has recently published the book “WAHRIG – Die deutsche Rechtschreibung” . Users can access additional services supplementing the book content online. The parallel installment of online and print content required for this feature has been enabled by semantic technology developed at the Know-Center jointly with its industry partner Bertelsmann WissenMedia.
The intellectual capital report (ICR) of the Know-Center is influenced by the idea of semantic web and is available in form of linked data. To make intellectual capital indicators comparable on a regional, national and international level, a new internal research project has been launched. This project addresses the provision of intellectual capital indicators in the Linked Data Cloud as well as related automated comparison mechanisms.
Research of Know-Center convinced international experts and secured future funding. In term of the major evaluation of Know-Center by its funding agency, Know-Center made clear again , that it is THE research center in the field of Knowledge Management and an innovation point at the interface between science and industry.
Active contributions by the Know-Center in the field of “Knowledge Management” of the Barcamp 2011. About 200 participants discussed on “Free information for an open society”
As associate partner of MATURE, the Know-Center congratulates on this excellent progress. We have again been assessed with “Good to excellent progress” – and all deliverables have been accepted.
On initiative of Know-Center, 21 Experts of the international TEL (Technology Enhanced Learning) – Community gathered together. Three days long, the participants have been working together hard on future learning scenarios and defined grand challenges.
Cooperation between ZBW and Know-Center enables visualization of economical research publications.
The German National Library of Economics (ZBW) offers over 25.000 full text articles from over 20 years. Keywords from the standard thesaurus for economics have been assigned to these articles. In order to identify content-based relations between keywords, the frequency and co-occurrence of keywords within the articles has been statistically analyzed. The result is a visualization which – based on technology developed by Know-Center – displays the keywords in a bundled semantic network which can be used for overview and navigation.
In term of a visit of the management board of MIMOS Malaysia, associated scientific partner of the Know-Center, the sequel to the project “Semantic Mediation” was agreed upon.
The i-KNOW conference of this year has attracted more than 450 national and international participants and hence was again a noteable success for the Know-Center. It clearly reflected the growing popularity in science and industry.
The MIRROR IP, which is led by the Know-Center, successfully passed its 1st annual review by a panel of four highly renowned experts.
Her research includes the analysis of knowledge work, the development of innovative knowledge services, and the evaluation of such services within real world work environments. Prof. Lindstaedt specifically focuses on the integration of soft computing with semantic approaches as well as human-computer interaction.
The Know-Center is pleased to announce that Mr. Sebastian Dennerlein, scientific member in the Knowledge Evolution Team, has been awarded the ELCH online voting award for his project “Collaborative Knowledge Creation with the WiKoWiki”.
